Power Ups

Overview

  • This section details the power-ups available within the levels.
  • The power-ups produce interesting effects which will motivate the player to explore the levels.

All the power-ups come in different sizes (small, normal and big) to compliment the player’s size. However, despite the differences in sizes, each version performs the same function.

Lightning

Restores the player’s energy by 10%

Max Lightning

Restores the player’s energy by 100%

Shield

Protects the player from a single hit

Clock

If the player destroys a non-enemy, for example, such as bookcase or a door, that object will remain destroyed even if the player restarts the level. If the player collects 100 clocks, time will be reset, which will cause all the destroyed (non-enemy) objects to be recreated. This is useful if the large player has accidental destroyed an item that the small player can use (Refer to dis/advantages of the three sizes).

Seed

Increases the player’s shrink reserve by 1 unit. Each time the player shrinks a size (either from large-to-normal or normal-to-small) the shrink reserve will decrease by 1 unit.

Leaf

Increases the player’s growth reserve by 1 unit. Each time the player shrinks a size (either from small-to-normal or normal-to-giant) the growth reserve will decrease by 1 unit.

Stars

Stars increase the player’s wealth reserve, which can be used to purchase rare items from the germ worlds.

tag_story.gif The stars were created as a result of the explosion. They contain magical energies, which the germs can use in their constructions.

Bronze star - The bronze star is the most common star the player will find. Each star increases the wealth reserve by 1 unit.

Silver star - Trivial attempts at exploration often yield a silver star. Each star increases the wealth reserve by 5 units.

Gold star - An extreme rare star that can only be found with careful exploration techniques. Each star increases the wealth reserve by 10 units.

Collecting 100 stars (of any colour) earns an extra life.

Atoms

Found in the outer-world, the player can pick these up and use them as projectiles.

Light Atoms

Light atoms are found by mixing particular types of atoms together (Refer to the atoms section. They consist of a ball of light which can be used to scare ghosts away.

3D Concept Movies

Movie 4b, 4c, & 4d - Shows the player mixing atoms, creating light-atoms to create a light atom.
